We had the opportunity to review Scruble Cube which is basically Scrabble in a cube. My dh LOVES this game…I on the other hand simply look at it and shiver. My way of dealing with the Rubix Cube (which this reminds me of) was to take it apart and put it back together the correct way ~ I’m guessing that would defeat the purpose of this game. *wink* The SCRUBLE Cube™ is a word game and a puzzle- on steroids! Taken directly from their website:
In SCRUBLE Cube™ there are 96 individually rotating letter and premium scoring pegs inserted onto a 4 x 4 x4 cube. The letters rotate to aid in pattern recognition when players are creating words. The cube offers a stimulating single or multi-player environment for spelling words of at least three letters on a single plane or over several faces: 3-Dimensionally. All of the letters have point values and scoring occurs at the end of each player’s turn. Bonuses are awarded for words that have a letter on at least three faces. And that’s the fun and challenge of SCRUBLE Cube: thinking in 3-dimensions!
SCRUBLE Cube can promote the development and exercise of key brain functions- logical deduction, analytical processing and word development skills in a unique and challenging way. And although you can challenge yourself on a variety of levels- if you can simply spell ‘CAT” you can play SCRUBLE Cube.
Scruble Cube can help with: spelling, word building with rimes, mechanical skills, team work, problem solving, and strategic thinking ~ just to name a few. Read their educational page to find out more.
There are several different lesson plans for Scruble Cube. You can find free downloadable information HERE…like Periodic Table of Scruble Fun (Science grades 5 to 10).
