Homemade Recipes

I am going to list the items I find online that are of interest to me and my family as homemade items. Not only are we trying to watch what we spend but also try to eat / live healthier, when possible. You will find both included in this list.

Homemade Pancake Syrup

Homemade Magic Shell – 1 tbsp coconut oil and plenty of chocolate chips. Microwave until almost melted, let oil melt chocolate the rest of the way. Use, refrigerate what is left and microwave again to reuse.

Homemade Chocolate Syrup (from a friend of mine)
3/4 C cocoa
1 1/2 C sugar
1 dash salt
1 1/2 C water
1/4 C corn syrup
Mix
boil and stir for 5 min
add 1 t. vanilla
cool and enjoy. It might be a bit watery, so you can ease off on the water just a bit.

Or…Healthy Homemade Chocolate Milk

Homemade Laundry Detergent

Liquid Hand Soap

Toothpaste

Homemade tortillas

2 cups of flour
1.5 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon of sea salt
2 teaspoon of vegetable oil (I use olive)
¾ cup of warm water or milk

Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and oil.
Slowly stir in warm milk or water.
Knead on floured surface for approx two minutes.
The dough should be firm and soft.
Cover for 20 minutes.
Cook up your other goodies.
Divide into 8 sections after dough rested.
Roll out with your favorite rolling pin.
Heat up your dry nonstick skillet until hot.
I use the setting between medium and hot on my stovetop.
I always use cast iron. I am sure other nonstick skillets work.
Cook in dry pan on each side for 20-30 seconds.
Put each one in a tortilla warmer or pocket of foil to keep warm.
