DVD Review & Giveaway ~ Homestead Blessings: The Art of Cooking

Photobucket
I was given the opportunity to reveiw Homestead Blessings: The Art of Cooking which was wonderfully refreshing! The West ladies are easy to listen to and the DVD is done in a way that is easy to follow along. I am not a cook, although I am trying to learn, and this video was perfect for me!

It shows how to make a wonderful breakfast, lunch and supper. Breakfast was buttermilk pancakes, cooked apples & onions and a smoothie. Lunch: homemake pizza and a salad (with salad dressing) and my favorite was supper which consisted of roast with potatoes and carrots, homemade buttermilk buscuits, homemade gravy and peach cobbler.

As I’m typing this, I am wondering why I keep saying “homemade” as EVERYTHING from this video is homemade…and a lot of the items they use are actually from their own garden!

This video was also good for me because it shared a little bit about why different ingredients are used (they help it raise or whatever) and different techniques to use to help with preparation.

I highly recommend this dvd to anyone who wants to learn about cooking or needs ideas about some wonderful meals to prepare! I liked what was said at the end, “Cooking does not have to be a chore.” And boy do they make it look fun and easy!

And now, even better news! Franklin Springs has offered one of my readers a FREE copy of this DVD!

Can you believe today is THE LAST DAY of 2010?  I.CAN.NOT!  Man, they say time flies faster the older you get…if that’s true, I am just plain going to miss it!  WOW!  Amazing!

Well, we choose to stay home on New Year’s Eve…too many “crazies” out there…and normally we don’t make it until midnight…but, who knows!

Regardless,  Happy New Year’s Eve to you and yours…be safe!

Have a wonderfully blessed day!

5 Question Friday ~ 12/31/10

This post is linked to My Little Life

1. How long does your Christmas tree stay up?  It came down yesterday.  WOO HOO!  :)   If it were up to me…it would be put up the day before Christmas and come down the day after.  Bah, humbug…I know.

2. Do you have plans for New Year’s Eve?  Staying home where we are safe.  :)   Other than that, nope.

3. Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?  I don’t do “New Year’s Resolutions” but I do have some things I pray the Lord will help me with.  Read my post that talks about it.

4. How did you spend New Year’s Eve when you were younger?  I don’t remember.

5. What was the best way you’ve ever spent New Year’s Eve?  I sincerely enjoy just spending the evening with my family.

Have a wonderfully blessed day!
